Email Issues solved? I sure hope so. This is just a notice and explanation as to what has been going on with my email sending service. If you've previously tried to unsubscribe but the link was broken, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email. No links from my previous
emails will work currently. No data or security breaches and I've never and will never sell my email newsletter list.
The short story:
I was using Sendy software with AmazonAWS for delivery. Sendy has become unreliable for me so I switched providers.
The long story:
Long time subscribers will know that I seem to have a two or
three year cycle of changing email newsletter services. Mostly due to the high cost of sending emails. Two services ago, I was using Convert Kit. It's a great platform but the cost of a few grand a year just to send emails was a tough pill to swallow. I used Convert Kit for a few years until I decided to give Sendy a try. After hiring a web admin to set it up I went from paying $300+ a month for this newsletter to $15-$40 depending on the number of newsletters I sent. HUGE cost savings! This is
also when I switched from a nice email template to a basic text template to better accommodate those who are color blind.
But Sendy became unreliable with a few updates and ultimately became too much of a hassle to continue using. Broken links, dead sign up forms, missing media files, etc. So that means it's time to switch back to something that is proven reliable. I could have went back to Convert Kit (I do like it) but I figured it
would be a good opportunity to try something different while still being in the same price range. I ended up switching to AWeber. I think all the correct settings are in place so this email is literally a notification and a test.
A personal update:
Murphy's Law has been KICKING MY BUTT in both the business world and the home ownership world since May. A long list of blah-blah-blah that sounds like a lot of complaining,
so I'll spare you the details. That combined with taking advantage of the summer weather for family memories and you get a drastic reduction in content published from me. I did not quit and have no intentions to do so. To those of you who have reached out, thank you. Your messages have been kind. I appreciate that. I don't want to say "I'm BACK and ready to knock out content like the morning after Taco Tuesday" but the ball is definitely rolling.
Anyway, you'll hear from me soon with the next article/video I publish. Have a great day! Click the pic for a fun throwback bandsaw box project.
